At Interfaith Community Services, the bowl is always half-full, but on Saturday, March 7, more than 1,400 bowls — and hearts — will be full to the brim during Empty Bowls 2026. More than 100 volunteers, 20-plus local eateries and businesses, 80 to 100 potters and an army of supporters will come together in an effort to raise $200,000 to fight food insecurity at the beloved event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Tucson Chinese Cultural Center, 1288 W. River Road.

For those who love animals, local nonprofits are planning a Valentine’s Day InFURmation Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7 at the Scarritt Group Office, 7630 N. Oracle Rd. The free event, which is spearheaded by the Southern Arizona Animal Food Bank (SAAFB) and the Scarritt Foundation, will feature more than 26 animal welfare organizations that provide resources, products and services for pet owners.
