It was somewhat ironic to go and watch a performance of Frozen during a heatwave, but one thing was certain - this show melted everyone's hearts. Theatretrain Isle of Wight put on a brilliant performance of the Disney musical at Medina Theatre at the weekend and showcased a wide range of impressive talent. The casting director had chosen well. Charlotte Jenkins, a reliable Theatretrain stalwart who has taken on a variety of main roles recently, was picked to be Anna.

The Isle of Wight's women's groups have been busy. Here are the latest submitted reports and photos. The long-awaited Bumann Shield was opened up to all guilds on the Island with the subject "Signs of the Zodiac." Wootton came a credible forth out of seven. The Lesley's Ladies Lunch was held at the Woodmans Arms, where the food was excellent. Ash kick-start the Isle of Wight Festival Main Stage on Friday

Ash kick-started the action on the main stage at the Isle of Wight Festival on Friday, 19 June. Scroll through our photos above. The band told the assembled crowd that it was their fifth time playing the Isle of Wight Festival, including the very first of the resurrected run of modern-day festivals, in 2002. They also famously played Ventnor Winter Gardens on their A-Z tour, picking Ventnor for "V".
