Abstract The common cause theory of age-related hearing loss and age-related disorders of cognition suggests that there are shared underlying physiological variables that may be modified with intervention. This study examined the interrelationships among physical function (PF), systolic blood pressure (SBP), hearing, and cognition in 150 adults aged 50–80 years old, utilizing a Bayesian generalized structural equation modeling approach.

Navigating the maze: understanding the information journeys of women in second-stage shelters

Abstract In this study, we explored the complex information journeys of women residing in second-stage shelters in Alberta, Canada, using a grounded theory approach. Analysis of detailed interviews with 20 participants who have experienced intimate partner violence (IPV) uncovered the multifaceted challenges women faced as they navigated the interconnected systems of legal, financial, housing, and social support services.
