I have been teaching guitar and bass professionally since 1992, when Don’t Fret Guitar Instruction was established. Over the years, I have taught countless students (beginners to advanced) how to play or improve their chops. I held teaching positions at The Thomas House of Music in Whitby and The Music Lesson Place in Oshawa, before opening my own retail/music education facility in Port Hope. I am now employed full time as a master guitar educator at LONG & MCQUADE in Cobourg ON. Past students include Luke Hoskin, Tim Millar and Rody Walker of PROTEST THE HERO, Kyle Renton of Port Hope based band TRAIN WRECK and Ian Fraser of Cobourg based bands The TUNE O MATICS and rock duo CLEOPATRICK
I am the author of ‘Learning Blues Guitar’, a beginner to intermediate blues method that sells very well in PDF form on the net @ Sellfy.
I am the founding member of the classic rock and blues cover band, JACKHAMMER. We have played many popular venues in the area: The Ganny, Kellys, Fionn McCools, Casey’s, as well as Canada Day festivals in Port Hope and Cobourg and the Cobourg Ribfest.
I am a composer/producer and have worked on some high quality original recordings with The Elizabeth Storms Duo and currently Henderson & Hemmerling. Songs are available on Bandcamp @ Henderson & Hemmerling
