Chapter Two • Chord Structure Theory INTRODUCTION This progression would be described as being in the 'key of A', although, once again, there is 1only one chord in the key of A Major, E7. There is a little more 'meat' to this progression in the last four measures. The 'five' chord, E7 is played for one measure before moving to the 'four' chord, D7. This is a more common sound than the chord progression from Chapter One. The last two measures are called 'the turnaround'.

The Forklift Behind the houses, across the road from our house on Bernice Crescent, was a factory called Dominion Gasket (where I ended up working, long after we had moved away from the street), and a lumber yard. We would play in that yard all the time, or at least until they chased us out. One weekend we were over there messing around. we had free rein of the place, there was no security. But, there was a forklift. One of the workers had left the key in the ignition.

The Maibox I loved playing Niagara Falls in the summer. It's a musicians dream to have lots of choices, when it comes to open restaurants late at night. We did a number of shows at the Fallsview, which at that time was a small 4 or 5 floor hotel. One thing we learned about the Falls pretty quickly, was that in the late seventies, it had a prolific underbelly of young male residents that took over when the tourists were safely tucked in their beds. I have no idea if it's like that now.
