Abstract Ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) and invasive breast cancer share many morphologic, proteomic, and genomic alterations. Yet in contrast to invasive cancer, many DCIS tumors do not progress and may remain indolent over decades. To better understand the heterogenous nature of this disease, we reconstructed the growth dynamics of 18 DCIS tumors based on the geo-spatial distribution of their somatic mutations.

A former sunbed shop worker who was given free tanning sessions as a perk of the job is now battling skin cancer. Michelle Stevens used sunbeds two or three times a week between 2014 and 2020 for 18 minutes at a time in a bid to achieve a golden glow while working at a salon. In January, after a three-year break from going on sunbeds, the 47-year-old noticed a small 'regular-looking' mole on her left cheek - in the same spot on her face as Khloe Kardashian.
