Louie Kennedy
Louie Kennedy’s Biography
I am a Sports Journalism graduate with a degree awarded by Lancaster University. Along with my degree, I have obtained hands-on experience in sports journalism through a wide range of positions that have allowed me to report, write, create, and engage with the sports community across Greater Manchester.
I currently work as the Media Officer at Trafford FC, where I oversee the club's media output. Some of my responsibilities include being the club journalist and providing live coverage on match days.
Before joining Trafford, I worked as the Media Manager for Avro Football Club, where I produced written and video content such as match reports, coordinated a team of media and content assistants to ensure consistency and quality in the club's media output, and helped elevate the club's online presence. These non-league media roles have given me a genuine appreciation for grassroots football and the value of community-driven storytelling in sports.
I also volunteer as a sports journalist for Manc Sport, where I cover sporting events and create original pieces focused on the Greater Manchester area. This position has helped me to hone my skills in reporting, interviewing, and researching.
Aside from club media and journalism, I'm a Student Ambassador for Footsapp, where I promote the brand on campus and help organise a university-wide football competition that brings together student communities. I also provide content for Sports News Blitz, helping grow their digital reach with engaging posts.
I am also bilingual in both English and Spanish and I am particularly interested in the intersection between sport, media and culture. I recently produced a documentary, "Behind the Mask," exploring men's mental health through the lens of sports, which pushed me both creatively and personally. It reaffirms why I am so enthusiastic about telling the stories that matter.
With a solid foundation in multimedia journalism, social media strategy, and live sports coverage, I am constantly seeking for new ways to develop, learn, and contribute to the ever-changing world of sports journalism.
