1 Introduction Antimicrobial-resistant bacteria pose a global health threat and are associated with increased morbidity and mortality [1]. Among these, the global rise of multidrug-resistant Gram-negative bacteria is particularly concerning [2, 3]. While many bacterial infections have been treated with β-lactam antibiotics, resistance in Gram-negative bacteria is mostly mediated by β-lactamases [4].

1 Introduction Ongoing climate change transforms terrestrial and marine ecosystems (IPCC 2023). Many species shift their distributions toward colder regions—higher latitudes, elevations, and deeper waters (Chen et al. 2011; Lenoir et al. 2020; Lenoir and Svenning 2015). These range shifts lead to thermophilization—an increased proportion of warm-adapted species—which alters local ecosystem structure and function (Devictor et al. 2008).
