(1) Hence, aberrant PPIs are strongly associated with diseases such as cancer (2) and neurodegenerative diseases, (3) which has sparked much interest in the development of methods that allow to modulate PPIs with therapeutic agents. Initially, inhibitors of PPIs received significant attention.
