Comparison of Survival Prognostic Tools in Terminal-Stage Tumor Patients: A Multicenter Prospective Cohort Study
1 Introduction Currently, a substantial proportion of terminal-stage tumor patients worldwide still die in agony after experiencing severe health-related suffering [1]. Moreover, many patients often undergo costly treatments that yield marginal or non-significant benefits, potentially exacerbating their end-of-life experience inadvertently [2].
Interpreting global spatiotemporal patterns in seed dispersal modes under data and methodological constraints
A reply to Wasowicz & Green (): ‘Towards a clearer understanding of evolution of angiosperm dispersal: classical syndromes are subjective and should not be confused with mechanisms’ We thank Wasowicz & Green (2026) for their thoughtful commentary on our recent study (Jin et al., 2026) on the evolutionary history and global distribution of seed dispersal modes in angiosperms.

Neural stem cell transplantation in rodent models of traumatic brain injury: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Abstract Background: Neural stem cell (NSC) transplantation holds significant promise as a treatment for traumatic brain injury (TBI); however, its therapeutic effects are inconsistent. To address this, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the efficacy of NSC transplantation in preclinical studies. Methods: We searched PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science for studies published up to January 2024 that investigated the effects of NSC transplantation in rodent models of TBI.
The onco-functional reorganization of language network underlying metaplasticity induced by gliomas
Abstract Background: Modern linguistic theories propose that language processing is supported by widely distributed large-scale modules that flexibly interact with domain-general networks. Progressive gliomas tend to reshape the language-associated systems causing dynamic reorganization that can be characterized by resting-state and task-based fMRI, thereby informing surgical decision-making.
Bulk nano-heterointerface secures molecular contacts in perovskite solar cells
|
Abstract The development of molecule-based selective contacts has boosted the power conversion efficiencies of inverted perovskite solar cells. However, these molecular films, often assembled as monolayer or multiple layers on the substrate, are prone to molecular desorption and structural deformation, limiting the long-term stability of devices.

Single-dose pharmacokinetics, tolerability, and physiologically based pharmacokinetic modeling of Fazamorexant in Chinese patients with hepatic impairment and in healthy controls
Abstract Objectives: YZJ-1139 (Fazamorexant) is a dual orexin receptor antagonist in development for adult insomnia. This study assessed the impact of hepatic impairment on Fazamorexant’s pharmacokinetic safety, and tolerability to guide clinical dosing. Methods: This study used a non-randomized, open-label, single-dose design. Patients with mild or moderate hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh class A or B) and healthy subjects (n = 8 per group) received a single oral 20 mg dose of Fazamorexant.

Structure‐Guided Engineering of a Promiscuous O‐Methyltransferase for a SAM Regeneration Biocatalysis Platform of Methylated Pharmaceuticals
1 Introduction The methyl group is one of the most prevalent substituents in drug molecules, surpassed only by hydrogen and nitrogen [1]. According to statistical information from the Njardarson group, more than half of the top 200 best-selling small-molecule drugs in 2023 contained at least one methyl group [2]. Despite its small size, the methyl group exerts a profound impact on the molecular properties of the drugs.
Anti‐Lung Cancer Effects and Related Mechanisms of α‐Caryophyllene In Vitro and In Vivo
1 Introduction In accordance with Global Cancer Statistics 2022, deaths caused by cancer account for about 1/6 of global deaths, among which lung cancer is the most deadly cancer worldwide, representing 18.7% of total deaths from all cancers (Bray et al. 2024). Non-small cell lung cancer constitutes 80%–85% of all lung cancer (Chen et al. 2022).

Joint Optimal Policy for Maintenance, Spare Unit Selection and Inventory Control Under a Partially Observable Markov Decision Process
1. Introduction Modern society relies on a wide range of infrastructure systems, including long-operating power supply networks [1] and transportation systems [2], which are critical to sustaining societal functions. These systems deteriorate over time due to prolonged operation and environmental stresses. As they deteriorate, the likelihood of unexpected failures increases, which can disrupt essential services and significantly affect economic activities and public safety [3].
Simulation Study on the Evolution Behaviour of Endogenous Third Bodies in the Rough Friction Interface During Braking and Their Impact
1. Introduction Wind power is crucial to the future energy supply. Fueled by the “dual carbon” objectives, the global demand for wind energy is rising. By 2030, the European Union is expected to increase its share of renewable electricity generation to over 40%, while China is projected to contribute 20% [1,2] of the global installed capacity. Currently, China is the world’s largest manufacturing hub for wind power equipment.
Strength Properties and Microscopic Experimental Study of Modified Sawdust Based on Solid Waste Synergistic Utilization
1. Introduction The cutting tailings produced during the processing of stone, such as granite stone powder or marble powder, are the main source of sawdust [1]. Sawdust is a mixture of stone powder and water with characteristics such as fine texture, high water content, and high viscosity, which make it difficult to treat and utilize directly. Currently, only centralized recycling and stockpiling can be done [2], but large stockpiling can lead to serious environmental pollution problems [3,4].

Study on the Influence Law of Micro-Scale Abrasive Wear on a Wind Turbine Brake Pad
1. Introduction The wind turbine brake system is the core component that ensures the safe operation of a wind turbine. Copper-based powder metallurgy materials used in the brake pad have a high thermal conductivity, high friction coefficient, low wear rate, and excellent mechanical properties, which are suitable for high-speed and heavy-load working conditions [1,2].
A Predictive Nomogram of In‐Hospital Mortality After 48 h for Atrial Fibrillation Patients in the Coronary Care Unit
1 Introduction Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a common disease with high morbidity and mortality and often coexists with several chronic diseases, especially in coronary care unit (CCU) patients [1]. The Framingham Heart Study found that patients with AF experienced higher risks of death with a 1.5- to 1.9-fold hazard ratio than those without AF [2]. Moreover, critically ill patients with new-onset AF experienced a higher in-hospital mortality rate [3].

Carbon Reduction Potential of Flexible Energy Use for Air Conditioning Considering Uncertainty: A Case Study
1. Introduction Buildings, as the receptacles of socio-economic activities, consume a large amount of resources and energy, making them major sources of carbon emissions. Among them, approximately 50–60% of the energy consumption of buildings is used by HVAC systems [1]. In light of the “30–60” goal, it is crucial to implement energy-saving and carbon reduction measures in buildings.

Iron Oxide Nanoparticles Inhibit Tumor Progression and Suppress Lung Metastases in Mouse Models of Breast Cancer
Metastatic disease remains a major cause of breast cancer mortality. (1) For patients diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer, the 5-year survival rate remains less than 30%, despite advances in systemic therapies, including the emergence of immune checkpoint inhibitors. (2,3) It is now evident that complex interactions between host and tumor microenvironment (TME), specifically among cancer, immune, and stromal cells, (4,5) are critical regulators of disease progression and response to treatment.
