Production of abundant defective viral genomes by an insect-specific alphavirus revealed by nanopore sequencing
Abstract Defective viral genomes (DVGs) shape virus-host interactions and evolution, yet remain poorly characterized in insect-specific viruses. Using Nanopore direct RNA sequencing (DRS), we profile full-length RNA species of Eilat virus (EILV), a mosquito-restricted alphavirus. We found that EILV produces abundant deletion-type DVGs far exceeding those seen in related arboviruses under identical conditions. These DVGs retain intact terminal sequences with conserved junction motifs.
Acid-Responsive Nanobot-Integrated Core-Shell Microneedles Reprogram the Degenerative Annulus Fibrosus Microenvironment Through Epigenetic Suppression of Ferroptosis
1 Introduction Intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD) is a leading cause of low back pain (LBP) and affects more than 80% of adults worldwide. Current clinical interventions range from conservative anti-inflammatory regimens to surgical fusion, yet none restore native tissue function because they either transiently relieve symptoms or permanently sacrifice spinal mobility [1, 2, 7-11].
Expert consensus on osteoporosis risk management in patients with sleep disorders
|
Abstracts A rate-limiting step in the prevention and early intervention of osteoporosis is identifying its asymptomatic onset. Accumulating evidence shows that sleep disorders are associated with an increased risk of osteoporosis. Given their early detectable and modifiable nature, integrating sleep disorder management into osteoporosis prevention and care pathways offers a novel approach for enhancing skeletal health.

Longitudinal analysis reveals myeloid cell contributions to murine neuroPASC pathogenesis
Abstract Neurological and neuropsychiatric symptoms, collectively termed neuroPASC, are among the most prevalent Post-Acute Sequelae of COVID-19 (PASC). Neuroinflammation – particularly microglia reactivity – has been implicated in neuroPASC. We previously established a PASC model in which SARS-CoV-2-infected mice developed persistent behavior alterations and prolonged neuroinflammation for up to 120 days post-infection (dpi).
Effects of the dendritic structural characteristics of water bodies on the spatiotemporal heterogeneity of stream water quality indicators
Abstract Mountain streams commonly exhibit dendritic river network structures, in which the spatiotemporal heterogeneity of water quality indicators is jointly influenced by seasonal variation and spatial morphology. In this study, a typical alpine dendritic stream in Laojun Mountain, Yunnan Province, was investigated based on one year of continuous monitoring across 11 sampling sites.
Free Boundary Problem for a Nonlocal Diffusive SIR Epidemic Model Incorporating Media Coverage and Hospital Bed Numbers
In this paper, we investigate a nonlocal diffusion SIR epidemic model with double free boundaries, where the infection rate and the recovery rate have been affected by media coverage and the number of hospital beds, respectively. We first give the existence and uniqueness of a global solutions, and then study the long-time behaviors and sufficient conditions for the disease spreading and vanishing.

Targeting the ROS-ferroptosis-inflammation cycle with a nanozyme-functionalized hydrogel for intervertebral disc repair - Nature Communications
Abstract Intervertebral disc degeneration is a major cause of low back pain and is driven by a vicious cycle of reactive oxygen species (ROS), ferroptosis, and inflammation, afflicting millions of people worldwide. Breaking this cycle represents a significant therapeutic challenge. Here, we develop a ROS-responsive hydrogel loading a resident nanozyme system composed of nucleus pulposus cell membrane-coated black phosphorus@cerium oxide to disrupt this degenerative cascade.

2. Materials and Methods 2.1. Plant Materials and Sample Collection The experiment utilized Tartary buckwheat (cv. Xiqiao 2) as the plant material, which was cultivated in flower pots under natural conditions with ambient temperatures ranging from approximately 18 to 30 °C. After eight weeks, different plant tissues, including roots, stems, leaves, flowers, and seeds, were harvested for subsequent analysis.

Enhanced Detection of RNA Modifications in Escherichia coli Utilizing Nanopore RNA004 Technology
Abstract RNA modifications are critical regulators of diverse cellular processes, yet their roles in prokaryotic mRNAs remain poorly understood. Recent advances in Oxford Nanopore sequencing, especially the RNA004 kit, have enabled higher yields, reduced signal-to-noise ratio, and improved read accuracy, making them promising tools for investigating bacterial epitranscriptomes. Here, we presented a comprehensive walkthrough for Escherichia coli RNA modification analysis based on RNA004.
Nitrogen-doped graphene quantum dots-intensified tungsten oxide nanosheets as the SERS substrate for antibiotics detection
Nitrogen-doped graphene quantum dots-intensified tungsten oxide nanosheets as the SERS substrate for antibiotics detection In this study, tungsten oxide nanosheets loaded with nitrogen-doped graphene oxide quantum dots (NGQDs/WO3 NSs) were fabricated as SERS substrates. Due to the promoted photo-induced charge transfer (PICT) and the strong π-π stacking effect resulting from the unique structure of the NGQDs contributed to the enhanced SERS signal.

Black hairy tongue after alprazolam intake
1 INTRODUCTION As a common antidepressant and antianxiety drug, alprazolam has been widely used and proven to have a definite therapeutic effect. Occasional mild to moderate side effects associated with alprazolam include lethargy, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, nausea, fatigue, constipation, and blurred vision.1 The likelihood of experiencing side effects is strongly related to the duration and dosage of alprazolam use.
