Wisconsin's Only 'Moon Tree' Is Growing Well In Menomonie Thursday Jul. 23rd, 2026 TO THE MOON & BACK. That's the path that this tree – as a seedling – took before putting its roots down in Menomonie in 2024. Today, the 'moon tree' (pictured July 2026) continues its growing journey at the Rassbach Museum (1820 John Russell Rd., Menomonie). In 2024, Menomonie’s Rassbach Museum planted a “moon tree” from seeds flown on NASA’s 2022 Artemis I mission to the moon.

While the Altoona Historical Society may be purveyors of olden-time memorabilia, its museum has a fresh new coat of paint thanks to recently completed external renovations. The building has housed the organization's materials since 2021 though the building itself dates back to 1972, having initially been used as a recreation center and the second home of the "Fish House" teen center. Visitors will find memorabilia from the likes of the area's railroads, city schools, and much more.
