ABSTRACT Mental ill health lowers the quality of life, as well as costing an estimated £153 billion pounds per annum (2022), with high levels of unmet needs. Reading or writing poetry allows individuals to express hidden emotions and express feelings of everyday life. The purpose of this project, in a large mental health national health service trust, was to explore the feasibility of staff, patients and stakeholders submitting poems of Hope, Joy, Light and Meaning.

Alcott became a paraplegic at the age of 10 and talks touchingly about the challenges this brought, also shining a light on how his family never treated him any differently.

As a society we are making more sustainable and environmentally conscious choices in the food we eat, the cleaning chemicals we use and the beauty products we buy. But what about our activewear? Traditionally, sportswear is made using highly toxic non-reusable chemicals which harm not only our own health, but also the health of our precious planet. Does this mean you have to choose between the environment and staying active? The answer is no.
