Interview

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

Via email or by social media.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

Mobile phone, OneNote, Word...

What's your favorite social network?

It was Twitter - but not any more. Now it is LinkedIn, Substack notes, and Post.

Why did you become a journalist?

I became an opinion columnist because there were things that needed to be said...

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

Yes, briefly. I wrote some articles, but I was always more of an opinion person...

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

There are so many ways to get your thoughts and ideas out there - just do it. (but always get a second reader to proof!)

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

In a board meeting, on a plane, and always with a mobile phone.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

That it is dry or about legal certainties. Corporate governance and boards touches everything - sports, finance, arts
