Mitchell City Council denies Doug Backlund's committee appointment recommendation

MITCHELL — The Mitchell City Council has denied appointment of a former golf course owner to the city’s subcommittee that oversees Lakeview Golf Course. Doug Backlund was recommended by Mitchell Mayor Jordan Hanson to be added to the Mitchell Golf and Cemetery Board as part of the Monday, June 15, regular Mitchell City Council meeting. Backlund was a former owner of Wild Oak Golf Course before it was sold in early 2025.
