What was your first job as a journalist?
I started out at data and analytics company GlobalData as an automotive reporter — funnily enough, I had a license but didn’t actually drive at the time. From there, I moved on to cover a range of industries, including retail, hotels and hospitality, and packaging. It was my first experience with B2B journalism, and it ended up teaching me a lot about the business world and industries I never imagined I’d be interested in, let alone knowledgeable about.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
To me, being a journalist means being endlessly curious. It’s about wanting to understand how things work, why they matter, and being able to make sense of that information for others.

Why did you become a journalist?
I’ve loved writing since I was a kid, and I was always a fast writer, which helped! That, combined with curiosity and a drive to understand more about the world, made journalism feel like the perfect fit.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I've been lucky to interview some top CEOs from major hotel companies, and I’m proud of all those stories. But the one that stands out most is when I interviewed the CFO of Marriott International. It was the biggest interview I’d landed at that point, and it felt like both a test and a milestone. It reminded me that there’s no need to overthink or feel intimidated, no matter the title across the table. That experience gave me a real boost in confidence as an interviewer.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Be persistent. Breaking into journalism can be tough, but starting with a blog or building a portfolio of your own is a great way to begin. Passion and curiosity are key — you have to genuinely care about digging deeper and telling meaningful stories. And always stay alert: there’s always a story out there, you just have to find it.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
I’m a big sports fan — football in particular. I’ve been playing since I was four years old, and when I’m not on the pitch, I’m probably watching a match. Outside of that, I’m also really into photography and, of course, I love to travel whenever I can.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
As a big sports fan, I think The Athletic is a fantastic read — great reporting and smart analysis. When I was younger, I loved reading FourFourTwo magazine. It was a classic travel pick-up for me — something I’d always grab at the airport before a flight.
