After rain washed out Friday’s scheduled game, the Down East Bird Dawgs finally caught a break in the weather Sunday at Grainger Stadium — and turned it into a much-needed win. Down East entered the series finale against Brockton coming off a rough doubleheader Saturday, when the Bird Dawgs were shut out in both games after the teams’ matchup was postponed by rain. With the day starting without rain Sunday, Down East responded with a 4-2 win to take the finale.

WASHINGTON, N.C. -- For the 4th year in a row, Terry Moore held his "Dream Big" youth football camp in Washington. The former Pam Pack, Duke and now Ohio State safety continued his giving ways despite a busy offseason. Terry transferred to OSU following three years as a Blue Devil where last season he was sidelined all year recovering from an ACL tear from the 2024 Gator Bowl. Leaving his home state for the first time to play in Columbus did not mean his impact on the local community would stop.

Charlotte Hornets send LaMelo Ball to Timberwolves in blockbuster trade

The Charlotte Hornets made one of the biggest moves following the 2026 NBA Draft, trading franchise guard LaMelo Ball to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Charlotte sent Ball and Josh Green to Minnesota in exchange for Naz Reid, a 2033 first-round draft pick, three additional first-round pick swaps and three second-round picks. Ball, the third overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, spent six seasons with the Hornets.
