OPP in Gravenhurst are investigating a fatal collision in Gravenhurst that happened on Friday June 19. According to OPP, officers and EMS responded to a serious collision on Gravenhurst Parkway near Reay Road on Friday afternoon. The collision involved a motorcycle and vehicle and while emergency response-initiated life saving measures, they were unsuccessful. A 21-year-old man from Brampton who was driving the motorcycle died from his injuries.

The Indigenous Summer Fine Arts and Crafts Market made its way to Barrie over the weekend. The market originally takes place in Thunder Bay each year with Organizer John Ferris wanting to expand into the Simcoe County region.

Avid golfers and members of Shanty Bay Golf Club came together on Saturday to honour former member Archie Thompson. Dave Eveleigh, golf course manager, said they wanted to honour Thompson while giving back to the community and decided to support the Barrie Food Bank. “Archie is a guy who used to be a member here and he used to be an employee here and, he died here about 15 years ago,” said Eveleigh. “So we have this tournament in his honor.
