Lydia Gregory’s Biography
Lydia Gregory was born in Madrid of a Mexican mother and a Puerto Rican father and—having spent a third of her life in the U.S.—was raised to be both bicultural and bilingual. She secured a degree from the University of Texas at Austin and began a long career in the media that included a stint on TV back when big shoulder pads were in style. For the past 25+ years, she's enjoyed applying her considerable experience and flair to her work as a freelance writer, editor, copywriter and translator. Mexico has been her beat since the 90s, and nothing makes her happier than introducing this marvelous destination and its many man-made and natural attractions to a new audience or helping those who know it fall in love just a little bit more.
Lydia has published articles in consumer publications such as US Airways inflight magazine, Hemispheres, Volaris, Destination Marriott, Skylights, BajaTraveler, and Explore, as well as industry publications including VAX's The Compass, Prevue Magazine, Recommend, VacationAgent, Agent@Home, and TravelPulse.com. In the past few years she has also worked on custom publishing titles and Travel Agent Academy e-learning programs for travAlliance Media. Lydia served as the Editorial Director for Meetings Alliance, publishers of the Meetings Guide to Mexico, the number one meetings tool used by the Mexico Tourism Board.
