The iconic Redwood Room has always been the place to be and enjoy, and tonight, acclaimed jazz vocalist and storyteller Sacha Boutros will perform in “Redwood Room After Dark.” 7 p.m., select Thursdays through Aug. 13. Today is National Martini Day, conveniently falling at the end of the workweek. A few establishments acknowledging the day are RM12, Top of the Mark, and Wilder, (which is offering a martini flight), and I’m sure there will be many others throughout the city.

It’s clearly the season for outdoor events, from films to night and day markets, but also some inside events to enjoy as well, from exhibitions, and more. The immersive exhibition Life in Space opens today and explores how life, whether human or extraterrestrial, might live in the extreme conditions beyond planet Earth in over 50 exhibits. Through Sept. 13 at the Exploratorium. Tickets from $30.

Well, it’s sorta kinda summer, and we all know that means weather-wise. Regardless, there are indoor and outdoor venues for some suggestions for the next several days from theater and music, to pet events, street festivals, and more.
