Abundances for a sample of southern galactic planetary nebulae

English We present elemental abundances for a sample of 70 southern Galactic planetary nebulae (PN), based on observations at both UV and optical wavelengths. In this sample, 6 definite Type I objects are identified. For the Type 1 PN, no evidence for oxygen depletion compared to non-Type I PN is found, hence the ON cycle which operates in the 2nd dredge up does not significantly affect the surface abundances of the progenitor star.

Performance replication of the Hospital Mental Health Risk Screen in ethnoracially diverse U.S. patients admitted through emergency care

Discussion In this replication study, performance of the HMHRS to identify patients who reported elevated levels of mental health symptoms at follow-up was strong, with 79% of these patients correctly identified. HMHRS scores also correctly identified 72% of the patients who did not report high levels of mental health symptoms at follow-up. Notably, sensitivity and specificity were also very good to excellent within all the ethnoracial subgroups we studied.

First measurement of neutron birefringence in polarized $^{129}\mathrm{Xe}$ and $^{131}\mathrm{Xe}$ nuclei

We present measurements of polarized neutron birefringence in transmission through nuclear-polarized Xe129 and Xe131 gas and determine the neutron incoherent scattering lengths bi(129Xe)=−0.186±(0.021)stat.±(0.004)syst.fm and bi(131Xe)=2.09±(0.29)stat.±(0.12)syst.fm.
