Competing quantum orders in 6R-TaS 2 revealed by pressure
Abstract The transition metal dichalcogenide 6R-TaS2 is a rich quantum platform hosting charge density wave (CDW) order, superconductivity, and an additional temperature scale at T* ≃ 40 K marked by pronounced magnetoresistance and a nonlinear Hall effect (NHE). However, the nature of the superconducting pairing, the origin of the NHE, and their relationship with the CDW remain unclear.

Abstract Encoding information in antiferromagnetic (AFM) domains is a promising solution for the ever growing demand in magnetic storage capacity. Abstract Vacancies in solid-state physics are underexplored in materials with strong electron-electron correlations. Recent research on the Ir-Sb binary system revealed an extended buckled-honeycomb vacancy (BHV) order. Superconductivity arises by suppressing BHV ordering through high-pressure growth with excess Ir atoms or Rh substitution, yet the superconducting pairing nature remains unknown.
