Applying the phenotype approach for rosacea to practice and research
This thoughtful article has been presented by a group of authors from departments in Canada, Sweden and the USA. The central point of this article is the case for a different approach to the classification of the skin disease, rosacea, although the argument is also relevant to other diseases.
Applying the phenotype approach for rosacea to practice and research
Rosacea diagnosis and classification have evolved since the 2002 National Rosacea Society (NRS) expert panel subtype approach. Several working groups are now aligned to a more patient‐centric phenotype approach, based on an individual's presenting signs and symptoms. However, subtyping is still commonplace across the field and an integrated approach is required to ensure widespread progression to the phenotype approach.
Applying the phenotype approach for rosacea to practice and research
A panel of four dermatologists defined the framework for possible recommendation categories pertaining to clinical practice, interventional research, epidemiological research and basic science in rosacea. A literature search was performed to assess the current approach to rosacea practice and research within these four areas.

Methodological aspects of assessing hand eczema. Comparison of two tools and three different categories of evaluators
Hand eczema is a common and persistent disease 1 with a poor prognosis1-3. There is no accepted definition of hand eczema severity. However, the extent of hand eczema has been shown to be an important prognostic factor 1. Agner et al. applied HECSI (Hand Eczema Severity Index) as a measure of severity4. HECSI combines evaluation of the extent and the morphology of hand eczema. Meding et al.
