Successful parametrization and models of these interactions, developed in the last decades, accurately reproduce all the proton and neutron scattering data, besides the properties of few-body nuclear systems.

Scattering experiments with three free nucleons in the ingoing channel are extremely challenging in terrestrial laboratories. Recently, the ALICE Collaboration successfully measured the scattering of three protons indirectly, by using the femtoscopy method in high-energy proton-proton collisions at the Large Hadron Collider.

Theoretical Study of the $d(d,\text{ }p)^{3}\mathrm{H}$ and $d(d,\text{ }n)^{3}\mathrm{He}$ Processes at Low Energies

Abstract We present a theoretical study of the processes d(d,p)H3 and d(d,n)He3 at energies of interest for energy production and for big-bang nucleosynthesis. We accurately solve the four body scattering problem using the ab initio hyperspherical harmonics method, starting from nuclear Hamiltonians which include modern two- and three-nucleon interactions, derived in chiral effective field theory.
