The professor’s next role: the spark plug behind the screen
AI will profoundly and permanently change the role of professors. This already emerging inevitability scares some and intrigues others. In a study at one of the author’s universities, 11% of the faculty in his college expressed “strong opposition” to AI. Words like anger, frustration, outrage, and fear were frequently used to describe the impact of AI. Intriguingly, the years of teaching experience did not influence overall reactions to the perils and promises of AI.
The novel therapeutic role of self-compassion and self-coldness in bullying perpetration: cultural impact on the mediating role of compassion for others
Abstract Current bullying prevention efforts primarily focus on victims, lacking a more effective upstream approach targeting perpetrators. This study evaluated the potential culturally specific associations of self-compassion and self-coldness with traditional and cyberbullying perpetration, focusing on whether these associations showed indirect effects via compassion for others and coldness for others.
Antonio Gramsci's Anti-Fascism: Not Your Average Fascist's Cultural Marxism
1 Introduction What can we distil from Gramsci for contemporary anti-fascist purposes? Where do Gramscian insights sit in debates about anti-fascist practice? Before answering these questions, we must confront two caveats. First, we must relate form and content of his anti-fascism by heeding Gramsci's own philological approach (Buttigieg 1994; Thomas 2009).

1 Introduction On September 26, 2014, 43 students from the Ayotzinapa Teachers' College were attacked and disappeared in the city of Iguala, in the Mexican state of Guerrero, after local police, acting on orders from the municipal mayor and his wife, both allegedly linked to the Guerreros Unidos cartel, detained the students and handed them over to criminal groups.
Targeted degradation of CBP/p300 by CBPD-409 exhibits robust anti-myeloma activity
Epigenetic regulation is central to multiple myeloma (MM) pathogenesis. Among the most critical regulators are the histone acetyltransferases CREB‑binding protein (CBP) and p300, which act as transcriptional co‑activators that maintain MYC‑driven proliferation, IRF4‑dependent survival, and plasma cell identity [1].

First Measurement of a Weak $r$-Process Reaction on a Radioactive Nucleus
This Letter reports on the first cross-section measurements for the Sr94(α,n)Zr97 and Kr86(α,n)Sr89 reactions. In particular, our measurement of Sr94(α,n)Zr97 is the first weak r-process reaction cross section obtained using a radioactive ion beam. This experiment was enabled by the use of novel solid helium targets, comprised of silicon thin films with high helium incorporation obtained via a sputtering technique.

Written by M. Williams Quay Studio, a visual arts group based in the historic Redcliffe Quay, is helping young artists find their voice. This week, members of the collective visited local schools to share their artistic styles and encourage students to express themselves through visual arts. Many Caribbean parents believe careers in law, medicine, or accounting are the best choices, which can make it hard for young people to follow their artistic dreams.

Prevention of respiratory virus transmission by resident memory CD8+ T cells - Nature
Abstract An ideal vaccine not only attenuates virus growth and disease in infected individuals but also reduces the spread of infections in the population, thereby generating herd immunity. While this strategy has proven successful by generating humoral immunity to measles, yellow fever and polio, many respiratory viruses evolve to evade pre-existing antibodies 1.
Searching for resonance states in $^{22}\mathrm{Ne}(p,\ensuremath{\gamma})^{23}\mathrm{Na}$
Abstract Background: Globular clusters show strong correlations between different elements, such as the well-known sodium-oxygen anticorrelation. One of the main sources of uncertainty in this anticorrelation is the Ne22(p,γ)Na23 reaction rate, due to the possible influence of an unobserved resonance state at Ex=8862 keV (Er,c.m.=68 keV). The influence of two higher-lying resonance states at Ex=8894 and 9000 keV has already been ruled out by direct Ne22(p,γ)Na23 measurements.
Associations between hamstring strain and knee ligament injuries with isometric trunk and hip strength and morphology in professional Australian rules football and rugby league players
Introduction: Smaller lumbar multifidus at L5 (LM L5) and larger quadratus lumborum (QL) cross sectional area (CSA) potentially increase lower limb injury risk in elite team sports athletes. Including functional measures with structural may improve risk models. Relationships between isometric trunk and hip strength and morphology were explored with hamstring and knee ligament injury risk in Australian Football League (AFL) and National Rugby League (NRL) players.
Letter: New-look currency a waste of money
By M. Williams Cape Town - I recently, switched on the TV, are you kidding me? We are going to have a new-look currency. I bet we don't get to know how much that will cost. Are you totally insane, we have an electricity crisis and we "have no money". I heard that the fuel bill for the buses never got paid, so they are parked waiting. Guess who struggles again? The man in the street.

Cross sections of the $^{83}\mathrm{Rb}(p,\ensuremath{\gamma})^{84}\mathrm{Sr}$ and $^{84}\mathrm{Kr}(p,\ensuremath{\gamma})^{85}\mathrm{Rb}$ reactions at energies characteristic of the astrophysical $\ensuremath{\gamma}$ process
Abstract We have measured the cross section of the Rb83(p,γ)Sr84 radiative capture reaction in inverse kinematics using a radioactive beam of Rb83 at incident energies of 2.4 and 2.7A MeV. Prior to the radioactive beam measurement, the Kr84(p,γ)Rb85 radiative capture reaction was measured in inverse kinematics using a stable beam of Kr84 at an incident energy of 2.7A MeV.
Abstract No. 182 The Role of the Peripheral Nervous System on Tumor Progression: An Anatomic Investigation
There is a growing appreciation for the interplay between the nervous system and cancer progression. Accordingly, neuromodulation of adrenergic signaling to tumors is a promising new avenue for cancer therapy. The purpose of this study was to characterize the neural anatomy for orthotopic liver tumors in a rat model of hepatocellular carcinoma and evaluate the potential role for studying neuromodulation on disease progression in this tumor model.
Abstract No. 331 ▪ FEATURED ABSTRACT Immune modulation by molecularly targeted photothermal ablation in a mouse model of advanced hepatocellular carcinoma and cirrhosis
Immunotherapy is a promising new treatment approach for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), but there are numerous barriers to immunotherapy in HCC, including an immunosuppressive microenvironment and the “immunotolerance” of the liver. Hyperthermia treatment modalities are standard of care for early stage HCC, and hyperthermia is known to have immunomodulatory effects.
