Individual behavioural change in dental care settings may not be sufficient to even out inequalities in oral health in children. Reaching socially vulnerable families can be challenging, but collaboration with primary health care can contribute to the relationship between families and dental care. Collaboration across professional boundaries might affect the outcome of interdisciplinary oral health prevention, and eventual hurdles in this collaboration must be considered in implementation.
