March 8, 2022 Two weeks ago, a security guard working at UBC Okanagan was brutally attacked and killed. That security guard was 24-year-old Harmandeep Kaur. Kaur came to Canada in 2015 from Punjab, India, with the hopes of attending university and eventually becoming a paramedic, according to a post from her family on a new GoFundMe to help her family pay for travel, funeral expenses and potential legal costs. Kaur attended Columbia College in Vancouver while working to pay for her education.
