1. Introduction Population growth, urbanization, and global economic development are gradually increasing the demand for energy. Historically, fossil fuels, particularly coal, natural gas, and oil, have been the main sources of energy to meet these needs. However, fossil-fuel resources are limited, and their exploitation leads to greenhouse gas emissions (CO2), which contribute directly to global warming, causing devastating effects on a global scale [1].
