1 Introduction Total pancreatectomy (TP) for malignancy is a rare operation that largely fell out of favor due to its high morbidity (30%–87%) and mortality (0%–23%) with limited evidence of oncologic benefit [1-3]. The postoperative course of TP is marked by the significant challenges of managing the resultant endocrine and exocrine insufficiency, which subject patients to lifelong medication burdens, decreased quality of life, and the possibility of hypoglycemia [4, 5].
