With a medium as extensive as anime, it's not surprising that it's had a fair amount of controversy over the years. Whether it be from a series being too gory, lewd, or deplorable, a good deal of anime has been banned in certain countries due to its graphic nature. When compared to manga content, however, anime gore is tame. There are many manga with the most explicit content imaginable, such as Dead Tube, Real Account, and Pumpkin Night.
