We would like to thank Dr Tan for his very interesting editorial1 on our study entitled ‘Prevalence and prognosis of patients with MASLD-related cirrhosis after an ICU hospitalization in France: a single-center prospective study’2 that aimed to compare prognosis of patients with alcohol (ALD), MetALD (metabolic and alcohol-related liver disease) and MASLD (metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease)-related cirrhosis after hospitalization in intensive care unit (ICU).
