Malcolm Anderson’s Biography

My first ‘real’ job in journalism was on a computer games magazine – Mac Action – sister title to the more well-known Mac World. This was back in ’96, ten years before the iPhone made Apple cool. It was great fun, taught me a lot about magazines, Macs and the publishing world. After a couple of years with IDG, and the shift from computer games to the emerging digital video industry, I moved into the more corporate world of contract publishing. I wanted a house (mortgage) so needed to earn more money. This led me to The Really Motoring Group, a young publishing company in the (mostly) automotive sector. I joined the team to help with the British Grand Prix programme at Silverstone. Over the next 23 years I was fortunate to be involved with the marine, automotive and global events industries. I covered motorsport, equestrian, marine, aerospace and more. A managing editor with a dab of the written word, I was the go-to editor for new titles and new market sectors. It was varied, challenging and rewarding to see it all come right.

After the global pandemic knocked the sporting and events industry out cold, I am now a freelance-for-hire and can bring all my experience to help deliver your publishing project – on time, on budget and on brand.
