Municipal food systems planning in Sweden
Abstract Municipal food systems planning, which involves integrating different food policy areas and collaborating both within municipalities and with external food system actors, is increasingly recognized as essential for building resilient food systems. While local governments globally are giving greater attention to food systems planning, practical gaps persist and barriers to transformation remain underexplored.
The AI boom: rational enthusiasm or the next dot-com bubble?
The rise of AI has driven a blistering rally in the tech sector, bringing stock market valuations to levels last seen during the dot-com bubble. Although AI is reshaping the economy, do today’s high valuations bear the risk of an abrupt and painful setback in the euro area? Valuations on the US stock market, as measured by the CAPE ratio, are currently close to their historical peak. Euro area equity valuations have also risen, albeit to a lesser extent (Chart 1).
The cost of not knowing: how uncertainty weighs on the euro area economy

How leaders in DTC are solving the hardest question in marketing measurement
By Malin Andersson, Commercial Director Retail & DTC, Criteo If you turned the hands of time back a decade or so, marketing measurement was a simpler creature. The questions at the heart of measurement were straightforward: which touchpoint got the conversion? Which campaign performed best? The data was trackable, the paths to purchase were significantly shorter and more linear. The questions keeping CMOs up at night today are far more complex – did our marketing drive incremental business outcomes?
Overcoming ‘faster horses’ thinking in DTC AI audience targeting
Whether or not Henry Ford actually said “If I’d asked people what they wanted, they would’ve said ‘faster horses’” is debatable. And yet I think about that quote often, because it captures something deeply human: the instinct to improve what we already know rather than question whether we’re solving the right problem. It’s classic “if it ain’t broke” thinking. And I see it everywhere in how our industry is approaching AI-powered audience targeting right now.
From bricks to clicks: an assessment of euro area digital investment
Euro area business investment has been relatively muted in recent years, with its components displaying a two-speed dynamic. While overall investment performance has been modest, investment in tangible assets and investment in intangible assets have shown diverging trends since 2020 (Chart A).
From sameness to standout: The next era of DTC brands
DTC brands have more tools, more channels, and more data than ever. The tactics that were once differentiators – performance marketing, influencer partnerships, subscription models – have become table stakes, making it harder for brands to stand out on tactics alone. When customer acquisition costs rise across channels, and auction pressure increases, growth stops being about buying more traffic and starts being about driving higher-quality demand.
What 24-Hour Gyms Taught Me About Being Neurodivergent
Published on 22 Jan 2026 at 13:24 Malin AnderssonMalin Andersson For years I kept trying to make 24-hour gyms work. You know the vibe; harsh strip lighting, rows of machines, mirrors everywhere, loud music as if you were in a night club. Add in the clanging weights and people moving fast in every direction. Essentially, a warehouse with treadmills. On paper the gym is good for you. Movement regulates your nervous system, exercise helps mood. It's meant to be supportive.
Breaking out of the silos: integrated approaches to food systems planning. Insights from Swedish municipalities
ABSTRACT Municipalities are recognized as important actors in transforming food systems, as they are responsible for various issues related to food. Recently, the Swedish government has emphasized the role of municipalities in strengthening food resilience. Scholars stress the crucial role of integrated governance in transforming food systems, and emphasize the need to work from a systems perspective, break out of the usual planning silos, and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
I Didn’t Know How Angry I Was Until I Became a Mum
Published on 16 Sep 2025 at 14:38 Malin AnderssonMalin Andersson There has been much spoken about male rage of late; how dangerous it is, how it explodes, how it radicalises. A watch of Netflix's Adolescence details how angry men and young boys have become. But women are, and have been, angry too. For centuries, we've swallowed our rage, hidden it behind politeness, perfection and silence. And when we have expressed it, we've been labelled dramatic, hysterical or "too much".

Business investment: why is the euro area lagging behind the United States?
Business investment in the euro area has grown less dynamically – and its outlook remains less favourable – than in the United States. In the post-pandemic period between the fourth quarter of 2021 and the fourth quarter of 2024, business investment grew by 15.4% in the United States – more than double the 6.8% cumulative increase over this period in the euro area (Chart A).

What are the economic signals from uncertainty measures?
While uncertainty plays a prominent role in many economic decisions, it is not directly measurable, making its precise impact difficult to gauge. In times of high uncertainty, households and firms may delay or cancel spending and investment plans, which in turn dampens economic activity.

Malin Andersson: "I Underestimated the Risk of My BBL"
Published on 9 Oct 2024 at 12:37 I seem to have had a lot of reflection in my life. The things I have embarked on within this journey I've had, some I have held regret onto — and some I realise were part of my soul's evolution to learn and grow from. I realise now everything in life is an experience, but when I look back at the biggest thing I have regret for it would be surgery to alter my appearance, and by that I mean BBL (Brazilian butt lift) surgery.
Malin Andersson: "I Still Bear Scars From the Changes I Made to My Body"
Hindsight is a beautiful thing. It has taught me, looking back at my younger self, that I wish I hadn’t meddled with my appearance at all. But maybe hindsight is not so beautiful, as I can’t turn back time. I can’t undo any of the surgery I had; or at least most of my aesthetic procedures on my already youthful face. “Oh Malin, you always had this inner-glow about you growing up. Care-free and tomboy-like.
