According to average rates from the Zillow lender marketplace, fixed mortgage rates are slightly higher heading into the weekend compared to Friday. The current 30-year fixed rate today, Saturday, August 29, 2026, rose by 1 basis point to 6.55%, the 15-year fixed rate increased by 5 basis points to 5.91%, and the 5/1 ARM fell by 5 basis points to 6.26%.
