Why did you become a journalist?
To share my story and my unique perspective.

No. I didn’t think of being a writer until I had life stories to write about.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Find your voice. You can’t write if you have no life experience.
What's the best pitch you ever got?
To write on Prop 16 and my opposition to the racist ballot measure which eventually failed. But it allowed me to explore nuance around racism
