Marc Thompson’s Biography
Anchor/Reporter Marc Thompson is ABC10's Consumer Champion, helping people save money and make smart buying decisions. His reports can be seen every day on ABC10 Mornings. Marc also anchors our daily 11 a.m. Midday newscast. He joined the ABC10 team in September of 2015.
Marc was born and raised in the Midwest. His hometown is Indianapolis, Ind. Marc is a proud graduate of Indiana University where he earned a degree in broadcast journalism.
Marc's on air career began down south, where he served as morning anchor for WRBL in Columbus, GA. From there he moved back home and worked for several stations in the Indianapolis market, landing a reporting position with WTHR. After Indy, Marc moved back to the heart of the south, where he worked with his brother, Malcolm, who's a music and entertainment attorney in Atlanta, Georgia. A true journalist at heart, Marc left Atlanta to get back into news, this time moving way up north to the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan where he served as a reporter and anchor for WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids, MI.
This is Marc's first time living on the West Coast, but he's adapted "just fine, thank you" from the freeze and snow of Michigan to life in sunny California. When not working, Marc is a huge sports fan, catching the games whenever he can. He loves spending time outdoors, and is very active in the RC hobby world, flying model airplanes, helicopters and quads.
