It feels strange to think that Gears of War is now twenty years old. I still remember the original game arriving on Xbox 360 and being absolutely blown away by it – the cover-based combat, the ridiculous amounts of gore, the chainsaw attached to an assault rifle because apparently a bayonet simply wasn’t violent enough. Gears was one of those games that helped define that generation of Xbox. Two decades later, Gears of War: E-Day takes us right back to where everything started.

Gears of War: E-Day Campaign Hands-On Reveals Emergence Day Firefights, Oct 6 Launch
Journalists have finally gone hands-on with the campaign for Gears of War: E-Day, and the early verdict is that The Coalition’s prequel plays like a confident return to the franchise’s roots while pushing new movement tech into the series for the first time. Multiple outlets, including Pure Xbox, Windows Central and TheSixthAxis, were given roughly an hour with two consecutive Act 2 missions ahead of the game’s October 6, 2026 launch on Xbox Series X/S and PC.

What We Played – NBA The Run, Rune Dice & 33 Immortals
It’s been a busy week here at TSA, thanks to the wealth of game announcements and trailers coming out of Summer Games Fest. All in all, I found a lot to get excited about, especially a new Xenoblade game, Final Fantasy Resonance and Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance. That should all keep me busy for a while, when they eventually show up, of course.

Our first look at The Coalition’s Gears prequel game follows an armorless (and more mobile) Marcus Fenix as he shoots through the streets of a city on Sera as Emergeance Day kicks off. Regular civilians can be seen being torn apart as the Locust horde makes its grand, gory debut.

Gears of War Netflix Movie Gets Exciting Update From Deadpool 2 Director
The long-awaited at Netflix finally received an exciting update from its director. David Leitch, who directed Deadpool 2, has been attached to helm the Gears of War movie for almost a year. Jon Spaihts is penning the script. However, no start date has been announced, nor have any casting updates been shared. While speaking with Collider, Leitch shared a positive update about the status of the Gears of War movie. Judging by his comments, Netflix is motivated to make this video game adaptation happen.

Titanfall 2 Gets "???" New Mystery Mode Years After Release
raWfodog22h ago(Edited 22h ago) To this day, I will never understand the corporate decision to not give this game the full development support that it deserved. I had so much more fun with this game’s multiplayer (single-player story was good too) than I did with CoD or Battlefield. Obviously not everyone liked it, but I thought the gameplay mechanic of racking up kills to call in the Titans for a little extra punch was brilliant.
