Jun. 29—YANKTON — Parkston's Landon Weber was the medalist in the age 16-18 boys grouping at the South Dakota Golf Association Junior Tour stop at Fox Run Golf Course in Yankton on Thursday, June 25. Weber shot a round of 1-under-par 71 to win the division, which had 43 players participating. Weber, a rising senior for Parkston High School, finished his round with three birdies and two bogeys, and recorded eight-straight pars from Holes No. 11 to No. 18.

MITCHELL — Hundreds of young rodeo athletes were in action on Saturday and Sunday with the Sioux Area 4-H Rodeo taking place on the grounds at the Horsemen’s Sports Arena. The rodeo consisted of two arenas of action and two age groups, with the junior division involving athletes ages 8-13 at the start of 2026, and the senior division for ages 14-18. The rodeo performances on Saturday and Sunday were treated as separate competitions.

EMERY, S.D. — Winner/Colome had a five-run seventh inning to rally past Dimock/Emery for an 8-4 win in Sunshine League amateur baseball action on Sunday night. The Pheasants’ Derek Graesser picked up 15 strikeouts in eight innings on the mound, throwing 134 pitches. He allowed six hits, four runs (three earned) and three walks. Kelly O’Bryan had two strikeouts in the ninth inning to close the game.
