1 INTRODUCTION One of the most common complications of childbirth is the experience of postpartum mood and anxiety disorder symptoms (O'Hara & McCabe, 2013; Viswasam et al., 2019). The postpartum period starts in the 12-week period post-delivery as the body returns to its pre-birth state, increasingly called the ‘fourth trimester’ (Hamilton et al., 2018). The influence of perinatal mental health complications can last years after pregnancy (O'Hara, et al., 2014; Woolhouse, et al., 2015).
