ABSTRACT The increasing concentration of pharmaceutical contaminants in aqueous systems poses serious environmental and health hazards which need to be taken into account instantly. This study was aimed to construct a carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC)-based innovative material, i.e. CMC@MnO2/Co3O4 nanocomposite as a promising approach for the removal of emerging concern contaminants in water bodies using moxifloxacin (MOX) as a model compound.
