A Robust Machine Learning Model for Diabetic Retinopathy Classification

1. Introduction Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is a common eye disease that, if not treated in its early stages, can affect the quality of life of the patients. In many cases, this illness leads to blindness. When the fundus eye images are analyzed, the ophthalmologists can quantify different stages of DR, non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy, and mild, moderate, and severe stages, according to the severity of each level of the affected blood vessels.
