1 INTRODUCTION Parkinson's disease (PD) is the second most prevalent neurodegenerative disorder, affecting approximately 2–3% of the worldwide population aged 65 and older (Poewe et al., 2017). It is characterized by motor activity impairment, encompassing resting tremor, bradykinesia, postural instability, and rigidity.
