Abstract : The aim of this study was to estimate the prevalence of patients diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) according to age, gender, and residence in Greenland and to investigate the associated quality of care. The study was performed as an observational cross-sectional study using data on patients diagnosed with COPD, extracted from the electronical medical record (EMR) in Greenland.

Prevalence The prevalence of patients with asthma aged 12 years or above in Greenland was 1.9% (870/45,313). shows the estimated age- and gender-specific prevalence of patients with asthma in the capital Nuuk compared to the remaining parts of Greenland. In Nuuk, the prevalence of patients with asthma aged 12 years or above was 3.3% (540/16,405) compared to 1.1% (330/28,908) in the remaining parts of Greenland.
