1 Introduction Postural control deficits are a common concern in aging, partially explaining the higher risk of falls and loss of independence observed among older adults (Pitchai et al. 2019). Sensory information from peripheral mechanoreceptors, such as tactile sensitivity in the feet, and postural control are considered key components of balance in older adults (Bloem et al. 2000; Prieto et al. 1996).
