Replacing petro-chemical-derived products with plant-based alternatives will play an important role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the United Nations (United Nations Environment Programme, 2022). It is expected that applied scientific endeavours will underpin this paradigm change to our manufacturing.
