Why Developers Should Start Writing More in 2026
Many developers spend years improving coding skills but rarely focus on communication and public knowledge sharing. However, in today’s tech industry, technical writing has become one of the most valuable skills a developer can build alongside programming. Writing helps developers not only explain ideas to others, but also improve their own understanding of complex systems. Technical Writing Improves Learning One of the biggest benefits of writing is clarity.

‘Blackhat’ Blu-ray Review (Arrow Video)
‘Blackhat’ Blu-ray Review (Arrow Video) by Mark Allen Stars: Chris Hemsworth, Leehom Wang, Wei Tang, Viola Davis, Holt McCallany | Written by Morgan Davis Foehl | Directed by Michael Mann About an hour into my viewing of BlackhatI was struggling to remain conscious from boredom. About an hour later I was glued to my seat, my eyes and ears on full alert for whatever the film was going to throw at me next.

“Finding Hope: My Planned Suicide”
So here we are or are we? Not sure about that, not sure about anything but the lingering depressive thoughts of things that will never be. About a month back I tried to flee Oregon and go back home to the city of sin. Back where my family died, me mum and papa. Bwaha…bwahahaha. Yeah just mom and dad, makes me giggle thinking you read that in an accent you silly twat. The family I had here in Oregon, the partner I had and step children. Well, they all found someone more suitable or convenient to them.
Depression, Addiction, Relapse, and Sacrifice So Where Do I Begin?
I’d always say that to the person in my life that I truly fell in love with and she would say, Like always, I’d promise to never leaver her no matter how this reality unfolds. She’d say the same joke every time, Time and time again my inner soundtrack begins to play that Bone,Thugs, and Harmony song while I cracked a grin while she giggled. That life, a time full of the wonders most seek and I did that in a small town in a weird area of Oregon.

Champion talk: Mark Allen speaks to Oscar-nominated Lesley Paterson
This week’s Mondays with Mark Allen is a belter, as he sits down with five-time off-road triathlon World Champion, Lesley Paterson. When the film you’ve written the screenplay for and been working on for 16 years has recently been nominated for nine Oscars, you have a very busy schedule in the lead up to Awards season. Mark has managed to find a good half an hour in the packed Paterson diary for a really interesting insight.
Stay warm with a KickAss 12v blanket
I’ve camped in some horrendous locations in some horrible weather conditions. But, as far as toughing out goes, I reckon I can hack it with the best of them. So long as it’s not too cold! Yep, I’m a bit of a wimp in cold climates. I’ll be the one with 28 layers of clothing, a beanie, gloves, and multiple pairs of socks. And still shivering.
Ride on mower racing: garden gangsters
Gentlemen, start your engines. Getcha wheels spinning and cut loose. Forget ya’ LS one, twos and threes, Barras won’t get a look in, neither will sooty old turbo diesels. Nope, this thrill-a-minute motorsport action is the domain of your Briggs and Straton, Kawasaki and Toro V twins, straight out of your garden variety ride-on lawnmower. Then again, some racers opt for a motorbike engine transplant. Mostly plonking a 250cc unit, complete with five or six-speed manual cog swapper.
'A really strong connection through ASL' | Deaf community finds relatability through 'CODA'
A 10-year-old deaf actress in Sacramento said the family dynamics of the Oscar-nominated movie resonated with how she and her own family use ASL. SACRAMENTO, Calif. — "CODA" is the first movie starring a predominantly deaf cast in leading roles to land a Best Picture nomination. It features many people that represent the movie's namesake Child of Deaf Adult(s) (CODA). Troy Kotsur is even a favorite heading into the Oscars for Best Supporting Actor.

Mark Allen: Does ineffective apologetics look like in today’s world? Josh Chatraw: Yeah, well, one of the things we’re dealing with culturally at this moment is this incredible polarization. Now, I think in some ways there’s been a divide in our nation, for awhile.
Apparition | Film Threat
By Lorry Kikta | December 13, 2019 There are many horror films that center upon paying the consequences for past acts. Karmic retribution is satisfying enough to most people that it has been a solid basis for a story since the genre’s inception. Apparition is another film to add to the canon.

Coasties Weather Shutdown: Don't Let it Rent Space in Your Head
How are our Coast Guard military members and their families weathering the partial government shutdown? This question was recently posed to me by Kristina Tanasichuk, Executive Editor at Homeland Security Today. I was afforded the opportunity on January 21, 2019 at the Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Association (CPOA) Headquarters to spend the entire day on the phone asking just that question. I called dozens of CPOA and Coast Guard Enlisted Association members around the Nation and overseas.
3 Unhelpful Ways to Do Contextualization
I recently used the phrase “throwing shade” in exactly the wrong way. In a valiant attempt to utilize relevant language, I promised a colleague that I’d “throw them some shade” when I got the chance. I meant to promise them that I’d promote them and their project when the opportunity arose. I assumed that shade was a good thing, like giving someone shade on a hot day. Later, I began to doubt my use of this lingo, so I asked my twenty-six-year-old son about it.

Ice brick, water and ummm… what else have I forgotten? Oh yeah, the stove, can’t forget the stove… must chuck that in just before we leave… if I can find it! Where is my esky, bugger, did someone put it in the shed last time we came home?
AFL Trades: ‘Chad Wingard won’t be at Port Adelaide next year’
Port Adelaide star Chad Wingard is set to depart the club in the off-season according to Herald Sun journalist Jon Ralph. It’s a decision which could leave Power fans tearing their hair out – however the reality is Wingard hasn’t been able to recapture the form which saw him burst onto the scene in 2013.
Anthony Seibold: Greg Inglis in ‘peak condition’ ahead of do or die clash
Rabbitohs’ coach Anthony Seibold says superstar Greg Inglis is in “peak condition” ahead of his side’s do or die match against St George Illawarra on Saturday. Inglis has had an injury-interrupted season, but looks to be back in the shape which saw him win a premiership with the club in 2014. Seibold says he’s been impressed with Inglis’ return to full fitness and there are no concerns over the knock he copped to the ribs in his team’s loss to Melbourne on Friday.
Brian Waldron: ‘it’s incredibly easy’ to cheat the salary cap
Former Melbourne Storm CEO Brian Waldron says “it’s incredibly easy” to cheat the NRL salary cap. The alarming revelation comes in the wake of the Cronulla Sharks self-reporting a potential salary cap breach in recent days. “The truth is it’s incredibly easy,” Waldron said when Marko asked him how easy it was to cheat the salary cap. “History says it’s been done in both the major (AFL and NRL) codes over the same period of time.
David Schwarz fires back at Judd comments
David Schwarz has fired back at Chris Judd’s comments on Footy Classified on Monday night. The former West Coast and Carlton midfielder questioned Schwarz’s retort in the Geelong Advertiser after Judd critised Melbourne’s post-game celebrations after their win against the Eagles in Round 22. Schwarz said it was “ridiculous” Melbourne was being questioned for celebrating their breakthrough victory in Perth.
Robbie Kearns: ‘I have no doubt Billy Slater will become an immortal’
Legendary Melbourne Storm fullback Billy Slater says he is “forever in debt to our game” while announcing today that 2018 will be his last season in the NRL. The two-time premiership winner who was also apart of the elusive big three at Melbourne beside Cooper Cronk and Cameron Smith first debuted in 2003. Slater’s former teammate Robbie Kearns was in awe of the star fullback’s achievements in rugby league. “There’s been no bigger superstar in the last 20-odd years,” Kearns said.

Danny Green calls for ‘standard penalty’ for AFL punches
Boxing legend Danny Green has called for the AFL to enforce a “standard penalty” for players who throw punches. Under the new rule, The Green Machine has suggested the AFL impose a fixed penalty as a punishment for striking. The 45-year-old said the AFL should focus on the offence rather than the outcome of an incident which currently has an influence on the AFL Tribunal’s severity of punishment. “The AFL have to realise they act on the outcome of the result of an incident,” Green said.

Daulhaus is an unrestricted free agent and Morris says the Western Bulldogs will not match the offer.
City council drags feet in ‘studying’ public restrooms
The Olympian (April 12) quoted Olympia City Council member Clark Gilman as saying “It’s not that we’re done having public restrooms downtown, it’s that that was our first draft.” in commenting to the closing of public restrooms in downtown Olympia. Let’s all hope City Council gets it right on the second draft and that it doesn’t go the way of a city parking garage: Another City Council idea that has been studied for over 30 years at enormous duplicative costs, with no tangible results.

Tony Lambevski told Neil Mitchell on 3AW Mornings that his son was hit off the play during a footy match in the South West District Footy League. Lambevski’s son Sam broke his jaw in two places and a fractured, decompressed cheekbone.

Dakota Johnson Talks Filming 'Those' Scenes In '50 Shades Freed' - KZZO
Watching the movie on the big screen, those sex scenes may have looked great, but Dakota Johnson was talking about what it was like to film those scenes, and it might be cringe-worthy. Dakota says that the most difficult scenes to shoot in the entire “50 Shades” series were those specific sex scenes from “50 Shades Freed.” She recalls that yes, she was actually handcuffed down, both on her arms and her legs, and that blindfold was the real-deal.
