The EV charging infrastructure in the United States is expanding, maturing, and becoming more reliable. Most recently, the total number of charging ports exceeded 250,000 across over 80,000 locations. 250,000 Charging Ports According to the Alternative Fuels Data Center (AFDC), as of June 22, 2026, there are 253,319 public charging ports (AC Level 2 and DC fast-charging). That’s 15% more than a year ago, and a full 50,000 more than the 200,000 level (or 25%), celebrated in October 2024.
