Mark Lager’s Biography

Mark Lager was invited to attend Festival Lumière (Lyon, France) by actress Irène Jacob and to contribute his top 10 list to the once-a-decade Sight & Sound greatest films of all time poll, alongside other critic and director lists, and his essay about Ennio Morricone was referenced by the Museum of Modern Art in their retrospective.

Mark Lager is an author of articles/interviews for film journals/magazines (Cineaste, Senses of Cinema, Rue Morgue, Film International, CineAction, Cinema Retro), music essays/interviews (Under the Radar, Pop Matters, Aquarium Drunkard, Vinyl Writers).

Mark Lager has written a screenplay (To Death With You) and a novella about Aleppo and the crisis in Syria (The Dust Shall Sing Like A Bird).
