Credit: Hooten Young Hooten Young has earned a Double Gold medal for its Operation Gothic Serpent Rye Whiskey at the 2026 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, hosted by the Tasting Alliance. The seven-year-old rye, created in tribute to the 19 American soldiers killed during the 1993 Battle of Mogadishu, received the unanimous top honor in the Rye Whiskey category. The Double Gold distinction is among the rarest awards bestowed by the competition.

Lee Greenwood Relaunches Soldier Valley Spirits Bourbon

Country music icon Lee Greenwood is bringing back Soldier Valley Spirits, his award-winning collection of American-made bourbon, whiskey, and vodka, timed to coincide with the nation’s upcoming 250th birthday celebrations. The relaunch includes three expressions — a signature bourbon, whiskey, and vodka — with a portion of proceeds from every bottle supporting veteran and first responder charities.

The Macallan “Drink of a Generation” Campaign Debuts With James Marsden

Credit: The Macallan The Macallan has debuted “Drink of a Generation,” a new cinematic social campaign for its Sherry Oak 25 and 30 Years Old expressions, featuring actor James Marsden alongside his son, Jack Marsden. The campaign uses the decades-long maturation process of the ultra-aged whiskies as a bridge between generations. You can watch the film here.
