The Center will be hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony for its 28-bed addition with several guest speakers, balloon release for those affected by addiction, and open house, to celebrate recovery and our new transitional housing building, on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 1 p.m. at 1300 Railroad Avenue. The public is invited to attend.

Vallad’s department working on pothole repairs

By MARK MCGEE mmcgee@bedfordcountypost.com If the snow and rain weren’t enough the intense cold streaks this winter have been a perfect ingredient for the development of potholes. Buck Vallad, Director of Public Works for the City of Shelbyville, said his department has filled more than 700 potholes in the last week. “Temperatures have been ideal for potholes,” Vallad said. “When extreme weather changes occur weaknesses in asphalt are the first to show wear hence the potholes.
